Hindusthan Record (now INRECO) began its journey with a visionary mission: to redefine how India's rich musical heritage was preserved and shared. Over the decades, we've evolved from a pioneering recording studio into a leading force in Indian music, renowned for our dedication to quality, artistic craftsmanship, and innovation.

In our early days, Hindusthan Record started as a humble studio in Calcutta, meticulously capturing the essence of Indian musical genres. Our founder, C.C. Saha, possessed an unwavering passion for sound and a deep appreciation for the artistry inherent in India's diverse musical traditions. This dedication laid the foundational values and principles that continue to guide us. Even Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore encouraged his disciples to record under our iconic label, signifying our commitment to excellence from the very beginning.

As our reputation for authentic recordings and nurturing talent grew, so did our reach. The distinctive Shepherd boy playing the flute logo became a household name, making us famously known as the "only Indian Music Company." Our catalog expanded exponentially, featuring a century of legendary artists like K.L. Saigal, Debabrata Biswas, Sachin Dev Burman, Pankaj Kumar Mullick, Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, and countless others across every genre and language.

In the early 2000s, we took a significant leap by embracing technology and digital innovation in how we distributed and preserved our vast content. This pivotal decision allowed us to become one of the first Indian music companies to deploy our extensive repertoire across all major digital platforms. Whether it's making classic recordings available online or exploring new media formats, our goal is to ensure every piece of our musical legacy reflects the evolving ways listeners connect with content. Our commitment remains to respect artists, value creativity, and champion the rich tapestry of Indian music for generations to come.
